Brazilian Tapir and Peccary Page

Brazilian tapir (Tapirus terrestris). The Brazilian tapir is an endangered forest browser from South America related to rhinos and horses.  The stripes and spots of the youngster's coat acts as camouflage, which disappears in the  grown adult.

Collared peccary (Tayassu tajacu), pig-like, but not a pig, this jungle mammal of the Americas is also known as the javelina, on account of its spear-like tusks. Another name-because of its odour- is the musk hog!
